wen i try to run modprobe i get no errors at all, but when i try to ping to my server, i get a host unreachable message!!!both in mandrake and in knoppix.

i still cant detect my lancard!!! do i hav to change the irq's?? how???

where can i download a eht0 driver for knoppix version 3.3 . it is bcm4400??? and also where can i download a bcm4400 driver for mandrake 10???

i tried all the instructions and steps but i still cannot netowrk knoppix! when i try to ping to the server it cannot find the server. i already configured the lancard eth0.

TNX!!! my video is ok now!!! how do i configure back the mouse?? what command should i use?? XFdrake onle configures the monitor and display settings, how can i change the mouse settings within the mandrake environment??? do i have to install everything back from scratch???

my monitor is dell e551c and my video is interl 82845... when i installed it there was an option on which x srver to install and the default option was the intel 845 , i tried it but it didnt work. there was an option in which dell and there were two to choose , i already tried both and it did not work either. i already tried to install in the lowest resolution and tried different resolutions like: 1024 X 768 and the lowest but it did not work.

hi how do configure linux so that i would have a server and client in which the client is diskless and would just boot and get I.P. add from the server, so that all services will come from the server.

i have downloaded a winex rpm, if i install it directly can i play starcraft now or do i have to download a binary??? where do i have to install it anyway???

do i have to uninstall wine before i install winex or i will just leave wine as it is??? my winex is winex-3.3.1-1.i696.rpm when i run it after the installation, will the command to run it be winex3 starcraft.exe??? or just winex??

what does the -workdir mean???? the winex i downloaded is not 3.3.2, but lower version, winex3.3.2 is the new release version, mywinex version is the version before that, does that mean that i have to replace those 3.3.2 with whatever my version is. Where will i execute the rpm command, does anywhere will do??? how can i change the path so that whenever i will try to execute new binaries from the console, the binary will run??? And also where will the files for the wine rpm be installed? where can i find its executable??? and also what does the back slash \, in Program\ Files mean???

when i run starcraft with wine my resolution will decrease(from 1024 by 760 to 640 by 480) and my starcraft wont run!!! what shall i do??

about mandrake 10. when i run the coomand startx, it wont run!!! i think that it really needs the disk 4. is there a way to install mandrake 10 without the disk 4 but still can run startx???

when i try to run winword or excel using wine i get error message that goes like this: "winword has not been installed for the current users, please run the setup to install the appllication."

when i install acrobat reader 5.0 a get a dialog box where in i can choose where to install it but the path on where to save it gets me confusing. it has a default path of c:\Program Files\blablabla... but when i try to save it in different path or partition i get error message, its something about write protection, i guess...

you should try partitioning your harddisk. one will will be for windows and the other for the linux, and install windows first and your linux after your windows in that way after installing both, when u restart your computer you get a choice where to boot from; either linux or windows...

when i installl mandrake it asked me for the 4th disk!!! but i dont have one so i only installed up to 3 disk only when i boot to linux i dont get any gui, how can i use mandrake in gui mode not in console mode???
