Try the recently released Fedora Core 3.
It can be some hardware incompatibility.
-
I had the same problem with FC3 and a similar one with MDK 10.1. Do like clutch said.
Boot like this: "linux noapic" (without quotes)
-
Because i like it and i want to learn linux.
It's like a challenge.
Microsoft have a big monopoly, i hate that. Like suing everyone and everythin. Not to mention the patents.

The error is:
hda: min size request: 1024KiB
hda: lost interrupt
-
I have a problem with MDK 10.1 Community too.
When booting the CD to install, it shows a lot of lines all about hda and hdb (Can't remember the error message now). Can it be that problem that we have to boot with the second cd?
BTW: I have a P4 2.8GHz, 2 discs, 1Gig of ram and a single DVD+/-RW drive.

I don't know if thats possible. I think the only way is the way you are doing.

It seems that the ISO is damaged in the server. Everyone who downloaded from there got a CD in RAW mode.

First i recorded at 40 x or something, then 24, then 16.
I never made the test, thats a good point! I'm using a CD-R, i'll try to install on the same drive. Thanks for the tips!
EDIT: The pc says the cd is corrupted (i putted it in the recording drive). I'll try recording it at the lowest speed.

Hi guys.
When i try to install Mandrake 10, when the setup asks for the 3rd CD, i insert it and it shows again the message saying to insert the 3rd CD. I burned another CD, downloaded again the 3rd CD, nothing worked. Do you guys know how to solve it?
Thanks.

I'll install red hat 9 until fedora comes out. BTW, how do i boot to text mode in red hat 9? What do i have to change?

I'm installing from source. I made ./configure and then make

Here in portugal support for USB ADSL modems sucks... I don't know if your modem is linux compatible.
-
I installed Fedora Core 1, but i can't even compile xChat 2.0.7. It sucked. I think i'll install Red Hat 9 again. When do they plan to launch Fedora Core 2?

Are you on drugs?

I have two gentoo CD's. Is there a way to install them without download nothing from the internet?
-
When you install red hat or mandrake, KDE and Gnome are different... For example in red hat it has a diferent background and it has a hat in root's home. I would like to install a distro with the options by default, with the default background.
-
Well... I will install linux as a standalone system, i will leave windows (yuck!!). Wich distros allow me to install the grafical mode (gnome and KDE) without changing it like fedora and mandrake?
Where could i find great toturials to install everything? ;( ;(

Yes, if you run the unstable branch (sid) of Debian or stable (woody) with backports
I would suggest that you download the Debian based Libranet 2.7 Classic Edition, because of the easier installer. Libranet is fully compatible with Debian. You can even upgrade to Debian unstable from Libranet Classic.
How do i make the upgrade from woody to SID? (i have both CD's)
