    Yelllllo,

    this problem is really annoying me, caus i cant figure it out.

    i have 2 computers with win2kprosp3, and remote desktop connection off the winxpro disc.

    RDC is on both computers and im wanting to control each computer from the other computer(gaming reasons).

    i have winroute on comp1, which is the comp which connects to the internet. I can use the internet from comp2 via ICS,(im posting from comp2 now) but to access comp1's files from comp2 i need a password, and vice-versa. but i cannot figure out why RDC doesn't work. I set it all up with the right settings and passwords, it sends 4 or 5 packets then carks it self with an error message( the client could not connect to the remote computer. Its something to do with permissions i think, but i dont know where to set them.

    anyhelp would be hot,

    yeah, thanks guys.

    i just wanted to know so i can upgrade in the future.

    i just watned to be sure that when i built my new house and cabled it with cat5e that i hadnt wasted all the money on the cabling that wasnt going to work.

    29cat5eoutlets in 18 sqaure house takes more time and money to rewire with newer cable, so i was just hoping that this was good enough stuff..

    ahoyhoy,

    i know ive been annoying you guys lately, but im trying to make a fast home network.

     

    my whole house is cabled with cat5e, and i want to run gigabit ethernet over it.

     

    its all Systimax cable which was made in april 2002, and im wondering if this will work to full speed, or the 350mbps some book i read siad.

    any help would be great thanks,

    ahoyhoy,

     

    im trying to network a printer (HP Laserjet 1200) between two computers running win2kpro. im also running winroute pro, and when i try to add the printer on the client comp, it gives me an error saying: could not connect to the printer.

    it used to work but now it doesnt.

    both computers can connect to each other, browse files, and use the internet, but the printer will just not work. it does it on 2 printers, the other a canon s9000.

    any help would be hot.

    ok,im running win2k sp3, latest 6.7 drivers, and i installed directx9 when asked by splintercell, so now i dont know whether it would run with directx 8.1b.

    icant run the game past the splash screen at the start. i edited the splintercell.ini file so that i took out all the code from the start of the unreal! engine code, and it gave me a different error message. so i put the code back in and took out the code from the start of the enginge onwards. anyway, thats probs doesnt make any sense to you, but basically i isolated it to the engine startup code that gives me those error messages. the error message is:

    General Protection Fault

    History:

    Hello everybody,

    im wondering if you guys can fix my prob.

    my specs are a p3 800mhz, with 320 meg of ram, and an intel 815 mb.

    i have an intel graphics chipset (i had to state the Obvious, sorry, Blah!) which is the 82815 chipset.

    a great chipset, not.

    i doesnt run hardly any games properly, mafia has SOME layering probs, but im after splinter cell.

    i know vaquero horres posted here about this before, but i get the same thang,

    im wondering if any of you have MGS2 on computer.

    if you guys do, what are the specs?

    or, if it doesnt say, what are you guys machines?

    would it run on anything undr 1 ghz?

    thinking about 800mhz.

    as the subject states.

    I was thinking kt400 specifically ga-7va or g-a7vaxp motherboards.

    but i heard you cant go the athlon 2800+ or the 3000+ even though there website says you can.

    anyone know anything about this.

    hi,

    im going to buy a ga-7va1394 motherboard from gigabyte.

    im asuming the firewire on this board is 1394a right?

    also ive heard you cant stick an athlonxp2800+in this motherboard, although the gigabyte website says you can.

    any expiriences would be hot.

    i want to get a program like microsoft's RDC, but so the user can see what i am doing. on a network of course.

    i dont mind paying for this program.

    i've seen it done in schools, i just dont know the program.

    anyhoooooooooow,

    i was just wonderings if any of youse could help me with a small probs i have.

    it kinda goes like this:

    i whacked xp on my 2nd comp, while the 1st one runs 2k pro.

    the 1st comp has onboard lan (10\100), and the 2nd comp has a card(10\100).

    anyhoooow,

    i wanted to link 'em, and i did that, except i did it thru a patch panel.

    i use normal cat5, and it didn't work.

    so i put some crossover in, and it connected, but the comps cant see each other.

    and now comp one enjoys giving explorer.exe errors, and reloading.

    but htat might just be coincidence.

    any help would be hot.

    Im thinking of buying an AMD palomino XP 2000+, but can i just put this straight into the mudabored im getting or will i have to falsh the bios?
