Linksys firmware upgrade available

Linksys has finally released version 1.42.3 for the BEFSR41 Router! "Firmware version 1.42.3 is the first public release that supports Universal Plug and Play (UPnP)." :)...

OLEerror enthusiast Registered: 09/29/00 Posts: 326	So far, so good. I've been able to get Diablo II and all of the MSN functions including video and remote assistance to work through it. I wasn't able to get AOE II to connect to a game over the Internet with both computers like I was Diablo II, though. I'll have to poke around and find out what the problem is.

OLEerror enthusiast Registered: 09/29/00 Posts: 326	Yep. I've been hitting their site hoping to see a new update. One of the limitations seems to be that it doesn't fully support DirectX 8, either. So DirectPlay does not consistently work. But, the wife is happy. She can now use the webcam through Messenger while talking to her family.

The list below is the current change from 1.42.3 to 1.42.6. 1. Support MSN Messager 4.5: A. Make a phone call, B. The lengths of router's WAN and Lan IPs are different 2. Fixed tracert under NAT mode problem 3. Fixed UPnP getExternIPAddress action problem 4. Fixed the problem where the DHCP Discovery request is sent when the lease time expires. 5. Fixed DHCP not sending a request when lease time expires.
