Yeah, it was a fun thing, up until JD got banned (again) finally.
Somehow, I think that was probably the best, seeing as how people were ready to start out there complaints about JD. I dont think that the offender should be brought up seeing as he seemed to do exactly what he said he wasnt trying to do via the name of the big thread.

My understanding was he and his pal were promoting an XP product and a ton of people were getting PO'd. Then it kinda boiled over in "I dont mean to piss everyone off..." thread and it got closed before things really got ugly.

Why did he get banned from the forum?????

It can't be because he found faults in win 2000, and spoke his mind.
I'm not trying to defend this guy but he has a right to his opinion.

Mind you I don't know the whole story behind his eventual departure, si im sure there is more to the story.

Cheers.

Here's what I got about the banning, all what I figured out: JDul had a bunch of other crap against him already, and this was the last straw. He knew his stuff, but on the subject of WinXP he would go nuts if you spoke ill of it. XP is in beta, and I hope they get somethings right before the final release. It seemed to me, that most of the issues, besides his long thread, dealt with WinXP. He was a zealot about it, and if you didnt like XP, you were an idiot. He was closed minded about the choice of OS. Im not saying you are wrong to use an OS if you want and feel strongly enough to [I]recommend[\I] it, thats fine. JDul went overboard when he visciously attacked those who disagreed with us about it. There was a fine line between rational support and extreme life or death support.
Go a head and voice your opinions, but dont be an a$$hole about it, if at all possible.
Ive had a few threads that Ive been the source of some flames, not to say those shouldve been done, but you get the point here. Enough is enough.

There was also some veiled threats of legal action against NTCompatible apparently based on his perception that he had been "slandered" (or something like that) and the hosts of this board had not done anything about it.

I thought there was more to the story. Well sounds like he had some mental issues also.

Thanks for the info Brian & EM

Yeah, that was a bad move on Jdul's part. Like he should be the one to pull that ****. The majority of the flames here and badmouthing were done by him, so I agree that was one of the stupidest things he couldve done.
Also, looking back on the big thread, it seems Jdul was banned before!!!! 8)
