where the hell is the option to turn off auto insertion in 2K. Its not in device maanger at all....

Change the Autorun value in the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\CDRom

To disable the Autorun feature, change the Autorun value to 0. To enable the Autorun feature, change the Autorun value to 1.


Restart the computer.

Too bad the MS Config stuff isn't included in this....

Also, try TweakUI 1.33. It can disable it from that utility.

the correct manner to do it is to run
gpedit.msc
and then, from the
User Configuration
Administrative templates
System
Enable the "Disable Autoplay" policy
