Read only sharing problems between W2K & W98

If I share my D-drive with read only W98 client says "permision denied" but if I set write / read access to share W98 client will be able to copy files from the shared drive....

I'm not sharing files from my NTFS partition, only from FAT32. I just can't understand why I must give write access also if I want W98 user to have read access. Top
