I'm using Redhat 8.0;

First question: I have an external Parallel port Zip Drive. It worked fine under Mandrake 9.0, but I can't get it to work under Redhat. I've alreday tried the HOWTO at www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/docs/HOWTO/mini/other-formats/html_single/ZIP-Drive.html but it isn't working. Any ideas?

Second question: I keep getting the following erros on boot up:
hde: dma_intr: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error }
hde: dma_intr: error=0x84 { DriveStatusError BadCRC }
I've swapped out IDE cables. I have an UDMA-66 cable on the hard drive (Seagate 30gb) and a normal IDE cable on the CD.

Machine is a P-III 450Mhz, 640mb ram, Seagate 30GB hard drive (model ST330620A), ABIT BE-6 motherboard, Voodoo5 (32mb) video card, Ensoniq 5880 AudioPCI sound card, and a 3com 3C595 NIC.

Also the machine seems alot slower than it should be, considering the processor and all of the RAM I have. I would just think that it would run faster than it is.

Thanks in advance.
