ethernet detected or not??

When i boot mandrake 9.1 it kinda hang for a minute on; bringing up interface eth0(zero) then it kinda detect my ip card 3-4 times before giving the value 9 to my card and continue booting...do anyone have any ideas about that??? Thanks!...
