BriTer Ideas announces SlickShopper for iPhone and iPod touch - Published on 06/04/09
IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BriTer Ideas LLC today released SlickShopper 1.0, their grocery list application for iPhone and iPod touch. SlickShopper provides a simple, intuitive interface combined with powerful sorting capabilities and a configurable user interface. SlickShopper has two primary goals. Assist with shopping list creation, and assist with the shopping experience. Items can be organized by house/apartment rooms, and then quickly sorted by aisle for multiple stores.
Loveland, OH - BriTer Ideas LLC is pleased to announce their first application developed exclusively for Apple's iPhone and iPod touch platform. SlickShopper is a program designed specifically to address the needs of a typical grocery store shopper. BriTer Ideas LLC founder Brian Slick comments on the release. "We couldn't be happier to be on the App Store," said Slick. "We are wading into an area crowded with alternatives, but we feel that our combination of features and price is compelling."
The first important aspect of any application in this field is list creation. SlickShopper includes a starting set of grocery items built-in, and remembers new items that users create along the way. In order to quickly locate items, powerful searching and sorting tools are provided. The list can be sorted three different ways: 1) Alphabetically, 2) Manual/Custom, 3) 'Smart' based on house order. "We are particularly proud of house sorting," said Slick. "It can be tough to remember to add things to your list. This way, you can see the items that you keep, for example, in the bathroom. Need soap, check, need shampoo, check, don't need toilet paper, and so on."
A crucial metric of a grocery list program is how the shopping experience is handled. SlickShopper puts the sorting capabilities to good use here as well. In addition to the alphabetical and custom sort orders, the list can be sorted according to the order that the user wants to go through the store, and multiple store layouts are supported. "We obviously cannot know how every user would want to walk through a given store, so we provide the means for the user to define their desired order," said Slick. "With support for multiple stores, SlickShopper works just as well at the hardware store as it does at the grocery store."
Customization is a key feature of SlickShopper. A variety of settings are available within the application, allowing for on-the-fly changes to how the program works. "We have tried to cover a wide range of use cases," said Slick. "If everything is turned off, SlickShopper runs as a fairly basic checklist. Turn everything on, and the user has the ability to enter quantities and costs, specify tax calculations, even customize the user interface."
