Hi all,

We have just published a review of *Mercenaries 2: World in Flames* for
PC. If you could post a link on your site that would be very much
appreciated.

*/It's all undermined however by the under-current of porting and
handling issues. The game may be fun to play around in, but that's a
novelty that soon wears off and can't be reclaimed thanks to lacklustre
vehicles and constant traipsing backwards and forwards. The basic
building blocks of the graphics and physics are also a little bit
hole-y, so even the visual wow of this all-out action game is a little
underpowered.

Then there's the co-op game mode, which isn't so much broken as
completely irrelevant. You have to create an account with EA and login
in order to get it going, and even then the interface is cumbersome and
awkward. Plus, even after that, our experience was that the game servers
were nearly always empty or populated by idiots who couldn't use
microphones correctly. We would have opted to go offline instead and do
some local co-op...but there isn't an option to do that. It's very much
online or bust.

Again, it's an annoying shame -- but that's a phrase which almost
utterly describes //Mercenaries 2. Co-op could have been the cream on
the top of an excellent cake, but instead it's another sloppily executed
smudge of...something on top of a cake that's uninspired and stale,
though not inherently unenjoyable./

*Cheers guys!
