New poster here, so am hoping you will be able to help me.

I recently bought the game HEIST which, on the box says it runs under XP. I've installed it and the start screen loads OK but when I click the icon to start the game nothing happens - none of the icons (inc EXIT) will work or do anything.

I've tried running the game with Win 95, 98, ME, 2000 and & NT compatibility but nothing works.

I have a high end PC (1 Gb Ram, 256 Video Card) so I cant understand what the prob could be.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

I am not familiar with this game. Is this the only name it goes by?

As far as I know, yes. I will check on the box when I get home tonight.

If we are talking about Heist done by Virgin Interactive in 2000, I tried it's demo and it worked without any compatibility modes.

Hmm... Now when I retried it, the buttons do not work.

<edit>
Go to folder where it is installed.
Locate file named dxinfo.bin.
Delete it.
Launch game.
Buttons should work again.

Note: the file is recreated and you'll need to delete it everytime you'll want to play it.

I have the game too and it seems like on XP you cant click the menu buttons... thats frustrating! the "trick" deleting dxinfo.bin does nothing.

please it would be really really cool to fin a solution becouse its just the start button we need -.-

I think it could be possible if you could start the game in windowed mode but im not sure.
would be very nice if someone finds a solution
