I have Norton Ghost2003 installed on Windows 2000 operating
system computer. I understand that there are a few updates for my
version. To update I understand that computer has to be on line.

However I do not have a modem or internet connection for
that computer. Is it possible to download the updates on another
computer and then transfer them to the proper computer OR is that
the only possiblity to pay the money again for an updated
version every time there is a revision?

Many thanks for any suggestion,

Gulab

Symantec's upgrades are generally based upon how long you've owned a product. They inform you based on the version of your product if the upgrade is free, discounted, or for an appropriate amount. I really don't believe they have made all that many upgrades for Ghost though they have several flavors of it. If there is an upgrade, each is handled differently. Sometimes they only let you go through their liveupdate; other times they provide a file to download and run. If it is the latter and you know your version, you can download it to any computer, burn it to a CD and install it on you W2K machine.

This is just me, but if you have used Ghost and it works, leave it alone.

Dear Sampson,

My version of Norton Ghost is not working, beacause I think
that it needs an update to be able to use with a USB port and DVD burner.

I understand that update is available, but I cannot get it,
because my computer is not connected to internet.

I also understand that to get a solution from Symantec
I have to contact them by phone and it would cost at least
$30.00, as one has to pay them before they would talk to me.

I wish that they would take the disk back and return the
money.

Best regards,

You might already have found this page on the web. He talks about the difference in the versions of Ghost. It may be helpful; not so much in getting the update, but with working with what you have: http://ghost.radified.com/
