Well if you want real stability you'd order the RAM from Dell too as it will be tried and tested stuff.
However I'm assuming you are not too keen on the prices from Dell.

Branded RAM seems to be much of a muchness with regards stability.
I've used Kingston, Samsung and currently Crucial and never had a problem with any of them.

Local shop has simptech ram.

Never used them before.

Dell wanted almost twice what crucial was asking.

I got a heck of a a deal on the server, trying to keep costs down.

Here is the Specs:
PE1600SC 1.8GHZ/512K XEON
1 1 311-1193 INFORMATION,NO SECOND PROCESSOR
1 1 311-1923 128MB DDR,200MHZ,1X128 DIMM
1 1 310-1676 KYBD,104,US,SLTEK,LC,M
1 1 320-0058 NO MONITOR OPTION
1 1 340-7087 36GB,U320,SCSI,1IN 10K,68P
1 1 340-7080 3.5 IN,1.44MB, INT FD, PE1600SC
1 1 420-4106 NO OS - O = OTHER
1 1 310-3776 LOGITEC SYSTEM MOUSE,GRAY,FACT
1 1 460-6604 ON-BOARD NIC
1 1 313-0741 48X,CD,680M,I,HH,,BLK
1 1 310-1989 ELECTRONIC DOCUMENTATION ONLY
1 1 460-7976 36GB,U320,SCSI,1IN 15K,68P
1 1 340-7133 C5, MOTHERBOARD SCSI, NO RAID
1 1 310-1866 NON-REDUNDANT POWER SUPPLY, PE1600SC

Got it for under $700 US.

Came with a free 36GB,U320,SCSI,1IN 15K,68P

Anyways just trying to get some ram before I install .net Server. Might go get the Simpletech if you guys say its worth it.

I must admit it is not a brand of memory that I've ever heard of before.
It will probably be fine as most "unbranded" memory is major on third anyway.

Crucial is fine ... we have used it in the past to upgrade some of our older ibm 5500 servers ...

My vote would be for Crucial RAM, personally. I would stay away from unknown RAM manufacturers, at least for a server.

'Especially' for a server smile

Again a vote for Crucial. You're getting it at half the Dell price, and, this isn't the place to economize.

If you're ordering by spec, make sure it's CAS2... Nobody makes bad CAS2 laugh

Oh, and I've had good luck with these guys:

Well was gonna do crucial but they were offering free 2nd day shipping, but for some reason, there is a different 2nd day shipping for Hawaii they wanna charge me.

SO I'll get the local ram.

At least I can take it back providing something goes wrong.

YEah, I got dual SCSI so the drives will be mirrored.

The Server is for a testing machine for my MCSA, so I won't have any critical data on it till I pass my tests.
