I am an ISP running a CISCO 3640 & a 2500 series router ... some of my costomers who have a Motorola SM56 PCI are having trouble connecting or remaining connected.. i know this is a popular modem and i was wondering if anyone has any experience or info regarding this modem ,,,or any known conflicts regarding the server hardware or configuration..... any help is much apreciated.....(buy the way i am running an NT server)

Thanks , Sparkhard

Heya, a few things you can get them to try...

Firstly, make sure they have the latest drivers from http://www.motorola.com/networking/products/sm56_pci_software_modem/drivers.html

Secondly, under Network settings for the Dialup connection properties, click the settings button and make sure Enable LCP extensions & negotiate mutil-link for single link connections is OFF.

Had a buddy with the same prob a few months back, and that's what we did to fix his.

Good luck
