windows 2000 server - 04/11/05 03:36 PM

i have questions about windows 2000 server these are the questions:
1. i hav a client computer having a winXP os, when a
user logs in he would hav a mapped drive which is
mapped to a share in my windos2000server where
the user will save his files there. is there a way so
that the user will save his files once and it will be
saved in both the network or mapped drive and at
the same time also on the local drive of that
computer?
2. my second question is how can i make a backup
server? how to set up one? does the 2 hav 2 be
win2k servers? do they hav to have the same
configurations?
if someone could refer me to some good tutorial about it especially dat is downloadable it would be a great help!:)

dats all i hope someone could help me! smile

1) Right click on the folder in Explorer, and select "Make available offline". This will copy the folder to the local drive so when the machine is not logged on to the network, the file is still available (you use the share as though it were connected). Is this the kind of thing you mean?
