hi all cant install max payne 1 on XP

Hi all have been trying to install Max Payne 1 on XP all I keep getting is

16 bit windows subsystem

C:\Windows\system32\autoexec.nt. this system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications

have tried doing the windows compatability thingy and am still getting the same message getting it with a few other older games, cheers for the help

Copy the files c:\windows\repair\autoexec.nt and config.nt to c:\windows\system32

Also scan your system for viruses and spyware and upgrade your antivirus/spyware since this problem may be caused by spyware or older versions of spyware scanning software.

i just downloaded a patch and it worked fine
