Warlords III Darklords Rising

I just bought Warlords III Darklords Rising and it keeps freezing on Windows XP. I've run it in compatability mode for Windows 95 and 98 and i still have had no luck. Is there no hope or can i do something about it?

I have the same problem with "Warlords III - Reign of Heroes" (the older Version). The game just hangs under WinXP. I thought, it might be a problem of the german version, but it seems, that the code is pretty buggy and/or incompatible with later OS versions (search "Warlords 3" and read the postings!). Man, I am playing LOTS of really old games my my dearest one is the only one which denies to run!

Hasn't anyone any ideas??? Please help the desperate !!

That problem is pretty easy to fix,

1. Creat a desktop shortcut for the game

2. Right click it and go to properties

3. In the target name it should something like "x:\Where ever you saved the game\Darklord.exe"

4. At the end of that put /WINCURSOR

5. It should look like this "x:\Program Files\Where ever you saved the game\Darklord.exe" /WINCURSOR

And everything will run nicely now, enjoy.

does anyone know where i can get hold of the patches for warlords III regien of hereos and warlords III darklords rising.
i have searched the net but all sites seem to have shut down and ubi do not support the game any more.
