Dynamic Drive Overlay, know where I can get it? - 02/25/04 10:26 AM

The older Western Digital hard drives have a partition proggy & in that proggy is a program called Dynamic Drive Overlay or DDO for short. This program allows booting off of CD-ROMS on boards that BIOS do not support this.

I can't find this software for non Western Digital Drives, I was curious if anyone could help me out. Thanks for your time either way.

It used to be called EZDrive (for Western Digital drives). This also worked for non WD drives.
Nowadays look for Data Lifeguard Tools. I believe it will work on non WD drives but I'm not certain (the old EZdrive definitely did).
You could also try Maxtors MaxBlast...
The drive manufacturer of your drive should have something as well.

It's the data lifeguard tools one, not EZ-Drive & these are for Maxtor hard drives. Only the Western Digital Data Lifeguard Tools Dynamic Drive Overlay was able to add CD-ROM boot support to the PC. Weird, I'll try & see what I can find out, thanks.
