networking problems can you HELP???

Hi I am having a problem on a computer at home...

networking related...

I goto explorer and type \\computername

then it will just stop responding...

I will restart and try again but the really %^^$ed up thing is that when I try to access the other computer again the only way it will work is if I make the computer I am trying to access to log off from the currently logged in user. and while it's loading to log off it will gain access on the connecting system

I hope you can understand what I have just said...

I dont know what's going on? I think my networking system is okey, I have IPX and TCPIP and no domain and have auto assigned IP for each computer.
