The drive work around listed on Ansible's site does work very well. I have tested it with 3 systems using 3dfx video cards.

Let's rehash: 3dfx sold to Nvidia their board inventory and intellectual properties. Nvidia did not purchase 3dfx Interactive. It hurts to see a great company go down the drain, but it unfortunately does happen.
