Does WinXP need latest VIA?

Does WinXP RC1 require the latest VIA 4-in-1 patch from VIA?

I don't think so
I have Asus A7V and all VIA parts are detected in device manager even Promise ATA/100 controller.

Just the 405c agp driver, don't install the rest.

Uh....405c? Where'd you find that. Last I could find, 404 is the latest, but maybe you know something I don't?

I found it at [url=www.viahardware.com]www.viahardware.com[/url] for download.. Here's the weird thing - when I installed it, it would get maybe 1/4 of the way through the install then just close itself.. I had to run it in Win2000 Compatibility mode in order to get it to install!
