    Connecting up HDDs and CDs

I would go with tis configuration: Primary 1 [HD1 - With WinXP] Slave 1 [CD Drive] Primary 2 [CDRW/DVD Drive] Slave 2 [HD2] That way data transfer between hard disks is faster (different channels), so you could have the Page file on the second. Faster transfer from HD1 to Cd Buring (different Channels) More reliable Disk to Disk copying, again because they are on different channels. Anyway thats what i'd do, Oh yeah when playing games that require a CD, faster data transfer, different channels. And when watching DVD's different channel from Operating system, so probably smoother. Cheers,

LAN shared Drive Access without password

I have two computers on a LAN, Both have D: drive shared Both have a user called NETWORK with Password A (General Computer User Privelages) Security on D: drive on both computers is Authenticated users only, not Everyone (which is default) Now here's the problem: After fresh boot from both machines, when computer 1 tries to access Computer 2's D: Drive, there will be a popup asking for username and password (Network usernamen used) However if computer 2 tries to access computer 1's D: drive no username or password is needed, it just accesses without any hiccups. How can i fix so both computers need to login to access on anothers drives? Cheers,

    Internet Explorer 7.0

Since picking up Mozilla 1.1 a couple of months ago, I have become very fond of the package. The Refined version of Netscape? Well on the homepage they have a link to Phoenix 0.4 (Oceano) The refined or Mozilla without the Fat, they claim... anyway based on Mozilla. Anyone given it a shot, looks kinda promising, i'll give it a few more builds before I d/l & ins. Cheers.

    Asking a Favour

I don't have XP or .NET , I Use Win2K, though i have this hobby of collecting the wallpaper picies that come with the Different Windows OS's I have the Win2K ones (duh...) + WinMe ones, though no XP ones or If .NET has new interesting ones i'd love to have 'em too Since 2K & ME, MS has bundled some really awesome wallpaper backdrops with it's OS's, don't you think ??? My current favourite is "Cliff in Clouds" from ME then "Smokey Light" Do XP Home & PRO have different wallpapers ? Otherwise it would be really cool if someone could ZIP & send the .jpg's in the C:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper\ folder from their XP installation Just send it to r e v e r s i n g _ d r i v e {at} o z e m a t e . c o m (without spaces and replace {at} with appropriate symbol) Cheers, PS, I'd love to get the ones from .NET if they are new. Thanks.

    Desktop Garabge

How do i keep the desktop clean from anoying program installations and ignorant computer uses, It can often become a Shortcut & User Files nightmare. What would be ideal for me is if i could set an expiry time for everything on the desktop, that is infinite exsistence for items i want to stay and anything added after that has a life time of 1 week then is automatically deleted from the desktop. Is there any Apps out there that do that or hell even registry tweaks that might simulate that? Or could i manipulate the task schedualler to do that sort of function. All i can think of is a primitive technique which involves using the attribute "Archive" and then a .bat file in the startup folder which deletes (moves or even zips with pkzip) everything which has the certain default file attribute. Suggestions? Thanks heaps, Cheers.

    Best Nvidia Drivers???

Quote: 23.11's or 28.32's should be good for your system. Grab all your Nvidia files here: http://www.guru3d.com/files/detonator/. Also, I would upgrade to DX 8.1b, too. H'bout 23.12 ? I have looked a bit in the forums at guru3d.com and 23.11 seems to be the pick for the TNT2 M64. But there is also 23.12 Is there anywhere i can find what fixes have been done in 23.12 since 23.11, the download file for 23.12 is like 2mb smaller!!! Thanks, BTW, it is a good site. Cheers.

    Best Nvidia Drivers???

OK who is an expert on nVidia Cards & Drivers? There are just so many detonator drivers out that i was wondering which would work the best for my system, relizing that the newest drivers won't be the best for my system. Win 2K SP3 PCI nVidia RIVA TNT2 32mb (M64) AMD K6-2 333 (3D Now) 160mb Ram (povo SD) DirectX 7 (Native 2K Ver) As you can see i probably wouldn't benefit much fro the latest drivers considering i'm not using latest directX or playing the latest games. So basically what i think i'm after is the most stable, most suitable for AMD/DirectX 7/W2K/SDRAM combination. The Games that i use on this system are: Unreal Tournament, Driver, Quake2, DuesX, Halflife. Is there anywhere where i can see the individual tweaks & Additions to different Driver builds? Cheers, [/b]

    Media Player 6.4 Codecs

Quote: By the way, even if you install Media Player 7, or 8 (or 9 Beta), you can still use Media Player 6.4 by running "mplayer2.exe" manually. And you can even re-associate the file types with 6.4 in the View->Options->Formats menu. kewl...

    Media Player 6.4 Codecs

Thanks guys, Yeah Tomay, i had allready found that site But it is for MS Media Player 8.0 also it has win98me in the url. So i didn't think that it would work for Media player 6.4 for Win2K. The other Link is Windows Media9, isn't that beta stuff? ;( But if you guys say so i'll give it a shot, I've just done a driveimage, so i got nothing to loose! I know i could simply install MS Media Player 7, 8 or 9beta. There's just to much woffle in the later versions, 6.4 works fine, i does everything i need (play music videos (mpegs & avi's)). I use other programs (Which are 10x better) for playing MP3's and extracting music from my CD's, and making playlists and compilations. I got the latest verion of DivX and i installed Quicktime 5, so i should probably manage, though thanks again for the feedback. Cheers. [/b]

    LAN protocols needed ???

Quote: I would strongly recommend that you upgrade your network... It's not very expensive to set up a 100 mbit LAN... I seriosly need to UG pretty much everything, PII 400 and a K6 333. The AMD K6 333mhz is a mini tower, so alas only two PCI slots, both used for TNT2 32mb & other Sound Card. So i'm stuck with ISA on that one anyway. Though there is definatley a place and time for upgrading, "My Place" and "Future Time" currently the situation

What is the Best Cd Burning Application when it comes to burning CD to be Played in an MP3 Player. My obvious concern is compatibilty, because i have heard some MP3 players are touchy and will not play MP3's if the filenames are to long or if Bitrate excedes 256kbps or if VBR is used ect... What CD-Burning Program best handles all these different varibales and DO any that you have used have any nifty 8) little extras? What are your experiences... Cheers,
