    Netscape 7 Question

Well I found a mouse scroll section in the prefs of netscape but there is no smoothing option like IE has. I also looked for that file you said it might be in but the only thing I could find was a security file. I guess I will keep looking till I find somthing.

    Netscape 7 Question

Does anyone know how to make web pages in netscape 7 scroll smooth like they do in IE? Right now it is really choppy when I scroll and it is screwing my eyes up.

Javascript problem that no one can figure out

Well i tried setting all the security zones to defalt but that didnt work. And I do run a pop-up blocker but for right now I dont have it running. So that is all I can tell you for now. I have checked though the Microsoft databases and cant find anything that deals with my problem.
  4. WEll it has been some time but my buddy the javascript pop-up problem is back on his resting spot on my back. I am havng a problem with javascript and pop-up windows (the kind of pop-ups that you want). Anyway, when I go here http://www.planetphotoshop.com/tutorials_effects.html and click on one of the tutorials I get.........nothing. No pop up.....nothing. I make sure that Zone Alarm and my Popup blocker are both off before I know im going to try it. Im running XP pro SP1 with IE 6 SP1. As a matter of fact....this started after I installed the SP's. Hmmm I will try to uninstall IE SP1 and see if that works. But in the mean time can anyone give ma a hand if they know a little abotu javascript. Thanks

    Kazaa and my ISP

All other forms of internet work at very fast dsl speeds. (I have not tried newgroups) I just want to be able to make my ISP thing that Kazaa is a web program so it will let it pass. I have tried kazaa on my other computers on my network and they show the same signs and I have tried on friends computers with the same DSL and ISP and they show the same sign also. I would understand about it if they had told me they were going to do this but they said nothing. I also beleive that I am paying for access to the internet and should be able to use whatever part of the internet I want from web surfing to P2P, I am payihng for it!!!

    Kazaa and my ISP

OK this really doesnt have anythign to do with XP or 2k but someone in here might have an answer for me. I have been running kazaa for about 6 months now. I have verizon dsl with first step as my ISP. Up untill abtou 2 weeks ago I was able to find files with all sorts of bandwidths and was able to download at incredible speeds. Then all of a sudden it was like Kazaa hit a brick wall. IT wouldnt find any bandwidths over 79 and everydownload is very very slow. It sometimes would take 2 hours to download an mp3. Anyway after thinking I did something to kazaa I finally came to the conclusion that my ISP is limiting the bandwidth on the ports that kazaa uses (1214). So I used a proxy server to change it to 1080. That still didnt work. So now I just got kazaa 2 and used the internal controls to change the port to a web port (80, 8000, 8080) but I still get the same things. I now have decided that my ISP is recognizing the packets and slowing them down (is this even posible) Anyway, does anyone know of a way to fool my ISP into thinking that kazaa is a web based program and to let it go?

Program to large to run in memory!!!

I have a question about opening up a file. It is a an application with a dos icon and is 238mb large. When I try to run it, Im assuming it will extract what is in it, I get a message in the cmd window that says the file is too larger to run in memory. Is there anyway I can get past this and into this file? I am running XP Pro (sp1) and have 512mb or memory.

    Disappearing CD-Drive

Thanks for the help but that link didnt have any information for me. I have heard of this problem before but I cant remember how to solve it. Even the bios dont show the secondary channel as being there. I think that I am going to reinitialize the bios with the cmos jumper. Thanks again for your help AlecStaar

    Disappearing CD-Drive

OK, I have a weird one here. I was installing Norton Systemworks on a work computer and right in the middle of it the CD drive disappeared!!!. It poped up with a message saying to put the cd back in the drive. XP doesnt even see it nor does the bios. I have tried taking another cd drive and putting that one in but it isnt seen either. The computer is a 350mhz with 192 mb of ram. I know that the cd had worked before because I installed XP using it. Any suggestions on how to get the drive back would be good.

A way to find out what is actually calling CPU space

I originally thought that some of these could be the lil' bastard that was doing this but when I did a fresh install with no software loaded and nothing but a mouse a keyboard a harddrive and a video card it still was there, even from the first time I booted into windows. The first thing I did was check the task manager.

A way to find out what is actually calling CPU space

Nope, no spyware. Just ran Ad-aware. There must be some way to find out what is really running. The stupid task manager just says "system". I checked my girlfriends XP (same one) and it only gets as high as 3% in idle.

A way to find out what is actually calling CPU space

I have taken my computer off the network too see if that was it but it wansnt. This problem isnt just for a little bit of time then it stops. I have watched it flux like this for about 30 min. It keeps going on and on untill I use the computer.
  14. when I open up Task Manager I have an Image Name of "system" that is constanly fluxing the CPU usage from 0% to 20%. I would like to know if there is a program that will tell me what exactly is causing "system" to use the cpu like this?
  15. emthompson

CPU usage always at least 10%

OK, this is what I did to try to figure out what was causing my CPu flux problem. I isolated every piece of my system down to the seperate sticks of ram and it does it with every piece of hardware I have. I even changed the harddrive that XP was on to see if that was it but nope. So now I am going to take Sampsons advise and flash the bios for my board. Im not sure if this will help but Im going to try anyway. I still dont understand why this problem would occur just out of the blue. I will let you guys know what happens.
