    XP Beta 2 & ACPI.sys

  2. Can´t play on Novalogic, can only host new games. Can´t even play LAN-games over IPX. I have contacted support at Novalogic; they claim Lan-games over IPX and Windows 2000 never have worked (DF1, DF2 and DF3). I remebmer clearly that DF1 worked 100% over IPX on my Win2k... Anyone with some information? Lasse

Nvidia's 3.78 drivers and Win2k? Did they work for ya?

They worked for me! I´v tried them all, and this is the only driver that gives me a decent performance in OpenGL (QuakeIII and Unreal Tournament)! Still it crashes in D3D, but who cares? I´v finally got OpenGL to work :-) I always run my games on maximum visual quality; Q3@800*600 gives my 58FPS. In 1024*768 I get 38 FPS. I´d also like to mention the Dell Liveware for SBLive - it rocks!!! My spec: Dual PII 300 CL Geforce SDRAM 386MB PC100 RAM W2K Pro 2195 (final) Asus P2B-DS (default BIOS settings) IBM IDE-HD Lasse

All of a sudden, trying to run Nero gives me BSOD!!!!!

My options of burner software is limited...esp because I have a Teac 56s, which only a few softwares support. Heifetz I have the final Pro, and Nero 4.0.8.3. This version is supposed to be supported by Win2K. Installed it yesterday, and everything worked perfectly! Today, after visiting windowsupdate and installed everey update available, Nero gives me BSOD... Lasse

Everything froze when I tried to load Q3 or UT. Found out that "something" in my profile must have been corrupt... Login with a new account fixed it for a coupple of days. Upgraded from 2194-2195 - now everything works great with the 3.64 driver... Lasse

BJ Mercer wrote: "I have a set of customized Nvida drivers that enable all openGL suport for TNT and TNT2 that i modified from Geforce256/TNT2 drivers. Works on the 6 machines we have for testing win2k on all but 1 with TNT and 1 w/ TNT2. If anyone wants - sent me a note. Easy Install." I really want these, but I can´t find your email-address... New Nvidia Drivers 3.65

Never underestimate the power of clean install :-) I´v been running W2K for about a year now. OpenGL and D3D have been a problem on my dual PII almost all the time. I´v upgraded my PC with every interim build and RC´s, and I´v tried every driver for my CL TNT. The only driver that worked perfect was Nvidia 2.08... After upgrading to Geforce 256 once again the OpenGL support was broken. Tried all versions av reference drivers but none worked... Formatted my disks and reinstalled W2K 2194 pro - used Nvidia 3.65 and everythin worked perfectly! So - to all of you folks out there - try a clean install if the newest drivers don´t work :-) Lasse
