I like to use Parted Magic. The boot disk allows you to boot and look at Windows and Linux drives. You can view and backup files or reformat drives. Make sure you leave a little bit of space in between partitions. I am not sure if it works with Mac. Somebody should try.

So you changed the workgroup names to Sukhoi and Munja? If this is the case the two devices will not interact because they are in different workgroups. Make sure the name of the workgroups is the same for each computer.

When you connect a crossover cable to a regular ethernet cable, it simply becomes a crossover cable. Depending on what two devices you are connecting will determine whether or not it will function.

Myke is correct. Some of the newer compact computers use laptop memory. A few of them are starting to use mobile pci-express as well. What is the make and model of the computer you are upgrading?
