;( Houston we have a problem. All of a sudden whenever I boot into RH 8.0 using KDE or GNOME the machine's response time turns to sh*t! I will take 15-30 seconds to respond to any input (including mouse movement). This only happens in KDE and Gnome. I don't have this problem at all in WM. Nothing new had been installed when this started happening. I have been running RH on this machine for about a year with no problems. 2 Ghz proc 80 Gig HD 512 MB Ram Can anybody tell me why this may be happening all of a sudden and/or how to fix it?

Does anyone do any MOOing or MUDDing? I am using tiny fugue to MOO and for some reason it keeps timing me out. I get disconnected from the server and these are servers that never time you out for inactivity. I am new to TF and I want to figure out what's going on. Is there a way to change the time out settings. Also, is there a way to have a chime notify me when there is activity on the screen?
