[INFERNO2000]

I'm running Windows 2000 on my good computer, and WinME(as soon as it finishes installing) on my Compaq.

I want to set up my WinMe as a server or proxy server or something like that....I have 2 Ethernet cards in the Compaq--one will plug into the Ethernet jack for the college, and the other will conect to my Win2k machine

My questions are:

1: Do I need to take my Dad's hub, or can I arrange the Win2k and WinMe by a direct connection(through the Ethernet line)

2: What do I have to do to set up my ME(or 9x) machine to set it up as the server?

3: Anything else that can be recommended

to connect directly between two computers, you will need to get a crossover cable, rather than the normal patch cable

What you can do is do a peer to peer maching you can do it by setting up by tcp/ip one ip for one maching and anotherone to the other one e.j: 192.168.0.1 for one and the other one 192.168.0.2 Set up the identification TAB to and the user id and password of both should be the same. IN THE CABEL PART need a cross linked cabel.

just make a crossover cable, terminate one end in Alpha or "a" and the other end in Bravo or "b".
