RH9 kernel crash!!!!

I am quite new to linux generally, but i am quite advanced with win9x. I have installed allright the rh9 but when it boots i get the message:

<0>kernel panic:Aiee , killing interrupt handler.
In interrupt handler-not syncing"

What is goin'on?

My configuration is:

P4 2,4 GHZ
ASUS P4G8X
ATI RADEON 9600 PRO
512 MB RAM
SOUND BLASTER AUDIGY
2HDD : ONE 80 GB AND ONE 40 GB BOTH WESTERN DIGITAL
PLEXTOR CD RECORDER
PLEXTOR DVD ROM

Plz somebody help me!

Someone plz help me with this?Could it be the ich4 chipset my mobo has?

How can i upgrade my kernel since my system hangs before it even loads completeley? Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp!!!!!
