i am about to install a 20g hard drive,so i can triple boot win2k, 98 and linux, but the instructions say that my system might hang at first boot if i dont have the latest bios that supports udma66,now i have the file but i've never done this before and i dont want to #@$k up my mb if it is'nt needed for the new hard drive.
does anyone know if the new drive really needs the new bios, and if it does whats the best way to flash it ?

If u do it right flashing the BIOS is no big deal. Download the latest bios and MAKE sure the model and REVISION on ya board are corect for a given motherboard. The just follow instructions that every maker posts on their site. As long as the power will not shut off during flash you should be ok.
In 90% of the cases the flash goes well. In the rest 95% is user fault and 10% manuf. mistake.
