Hi, I really do need some help, I want to wipe mandrake off my system , but just won't go away.I took me centuries before I could install the "great" mandrake, but now it has only been a big pain in my neck.

The stuff does not recognise my printers, floppy drive and I just want to get rid of it.

Someone please help

Are you dual booting? use Partition magic in Windows to do it.

Install another Linux Distro, and when you come to the part about partitioning, tell it to format 'em all! (If you have Windows, and you want to keep it, don't format the Windows partition, just the Linux ones, of course.) laugh

I just did the exact same thing. Here is how I did it.

1. Used Dos mode from Win98 (I had to get to a dos prompt - XP won't allow it...).

2. Ran fdisk and asked it to switch to second hard drive.

3. Used fdisk on the second drive to remove all partitions (fdisk does one at a time).

4. Used fdisk to create an active dos partition.

5. Closed fdisk.

6. Used DOS format program to format the second hard drive.

7. All done - no more Linux... laugh
