Sybex E-Trainers - Sound Issue

In talking with Sybex, their e-trainer programs for A+ and Network+ are currently written using 8bit sound. Seems that the Win2000 drivers don't support this well/at all.

Anyone have a work-around?

Current system: Gateway G6-400 w/ Intel PIII 550mz, onboard Creative Labs/Ensoniq AudioPCI chip 1371.

Will drop in a CL SoundBlaster Live if that'll fix the problem.
