Quetzal) release party. He highlights instructions about how to throw

Chuck Short reports about recent work concerning OpenStack:
* "Folsom release on Ubuntu 12.10" which includes following projects:
"Nova, Swift, Glance, Keystone, Horizon and two new ones (Cinder -
block storage, Quantum - SDN)."
* "Folsom release on Ubuntu 12.04" where is highlighted recently
announced Ubuntu cloud archive which enables "releasing the latest
version of OpenStack to users who want the stability of an LTS release
but need a newer version of OpenStack for their cloud."

Short also extends a call to testers and bug reporters on 12.04
servers, pointing out that volunteers will need the following in their
/etc/apt/sources.list: deb

precise-proposed/folsom main. Users who just want to install the
latest version of OpenStack on their 12.04 server will need to add the

Jono Bacon discusses the progress made by the Canoncial Community
Team, and outlines plans for the team during the upcoming 13.04 cycle.
He writes about the recent commitment to Quality Assurance, and how
the team hopes to expand on that commitment by growing the community
of testers, and using the resources more effectively by improving
manual and automatic testing. Other targeted areas include: improving
the App Developers' experience, continued development on Ubuntu
Accomplishments, and further growing Ubuntu's popularity in the cloud
with Juju.

The Kubuntu team announces "packages for the release of KDE SC 4.9.2
are available for Kubuntu 12.04.1 LTS releases" which can be retrieved
from the Kubuntu Backports PPA. The packages are also in Kubuntu 12.10
development release.

=== David Henningsson: Pulseaudio conference - less than a month away! ===

David Henningsson reminds us that the upcoming Pulseaudio conference
in Bella Center, Copenhagen, is less than a month away. The event
takes place alongside the Ubuntu Developer Summit and Linaro Connect.
There is no fee, but attendees must have either a UDS or LC
registration to get into the conference area.

This past week, the Community Team did a 24-hour marathon to raise
money for charity. The event was streamed live via Google+ Hangouts
and featured interviews and discussions from many community members.
Six charities were benefited, and by the end a total of PS5,133.70 was
raised.

In this article from Jeremy Bicha, we read about the Ubuntu GNOME
Remix project and its goal to bridge the gap between Ubuntu and GNOME.
The project seeks to address the issue of including both Ubuntu Online
Accounts and GNOME Online Accounts in the 12.10 release, which
provides a horrible user experience as well as a headache for GNOME
app developers due to the two different APIs.
