news 28 Posted August 21, 2012 *Interview with DuckDuckGo founder Gabriel Weinberg* http://www.techspot.com/article/559-gabriel-weinberg-interview/ Many have tried to challenge GoogleÂ’s dominance of the search market over the past few years, from small startups to big-name players with deep pockets. But perhaps with the exception of Microsoft, which has poured billions into its search efforts, all have failed to gain any significant traction. A relative newcomer to the search market, DuckDuckGo isnÂ’t shying away from the monumental task, however. In fact, with a simple, straightforward interface and clean results theyÂ’ve come up with one of the most appealing Google alternatives to date. Even if they are still far from changing the status quo, their no nonsense approach to privacy and instant answers are worth taking note of. We had a chance to talk with the siteÂ’s creator Gabriel Weinberg a couple of weeks ago. HereÂ’s what he had to say about his four-year-old search engine startup and his competitors. Thank you.
