Anybody having problem with Adobe Photoshop 5.5?

I am running Win2000 (Build 2195) and I am having problem with Adobe Photoshop 5.5. Whenever I use Eraser (for example, to erase background out of a picture and turn it to transparent)my computer would freeze after like 10 seconds of Eraser use.

hrm, whats up with some ppl having problems with adobe.. there are quite a few... but there's also a bunch of ppl who have no problems at all like me...

maybe a bad installation or sumthing.
