New compatibility update keeps failing install???

I tried downloading it earlier today from the link here, and it said it could not install because it was unable to replace a system protected file required to run the update. So then later tonight I went to the Windows Update website and tried it, and that too failed. But there are no error messages that say WHICH file I need to mess with. And clues???
