i have two systems running Win2k, one is a p3 the other is an athlon. When ever i play a game, well a D3D game(i haven't used openGL in a while), within the first minute of play it will freeze for about 10 - 15 seconds then it will run without problems. The only common thing between the two computers is the Live! card. i'm running dx 7 on one, and 8 on the other. one computer has sp-1 on it, the other does not. the two video cards are a Geforce DDR, and a Matrox G400 i believe. Anyway it seems to me a common problem for me, i know 3 computers running win2k and they all have this problem. anywa thanks fot the help.

If you're talking about games which use the Unreal Tournament engine I have a suggestion: Get more RAM. UT, The Fallen, Deus Ex ... any game that utilized the UT Engine caused a problem similar to the one you mentioned on my computer. After my upgrade to 256 MB I didn't encounter this problem anymore ... wink

Well, several of my friends and I have the same problem. The problem from what we can tell is the SB Live. Because other systems with Diamond sound cards or AWE64s aren't having the problem. Lets hope that Creative comes out with some new drivers soon *HINT HINT*
