I have a P2 350 and voodoo3 and have 128m ram. I was told that win98 won't use more then 128m.Does this mean that if Q3 is started under win98 and I have 256m of ram it will not access it? I have switched to win2k now, and I still have 128m ram and am wondering if i will achieve a noticeable performance boost by increasing ram to, say, 256m or higher. Will Q3 and other games access this extra ram instead of the pagefile or does this only occur if the software writers give the program the option to access as much ram as is available or needed?
Sorry if this question is moronic or has been asked before.
Thanks

There will be a SIGNIFICANT decrease in load times in games jumping from 128 to 256.

I went from 128 to 512 and Unreal Tournament starts up in like 0 seconds now. smile (Ok, not that fast. Mabye 2 secs wink )

Yup I made the jump a few months back from 128 to 256 and the load times decreased big time. As in gameplay a slight bit smoother. More ram never hurts. Im drooling for another 256 now.
