Im having a problem with the screen being all messed up, looks like my system doesnt like the resolution that diablo2 uses ..can only see half the screen.

I tried changing my systems res to 800x600 with a working resolution for windows but when i start the game its still scrwed up.

Im on a Viper770ultra (TNT2u) ref 3.69 ..i tried using the 3.78 but those freeze my system as soon as i launch the game, also tried using 3.66 ones but they dont help, my system can't boot up with any of the 5.* detonator drivers.

Any ideas?

I think you nailed it when you mentioned the drivers. I am running the 5.17 drivers and it looks just fine. There is probably an update in one of the later drivers that fixed your issue... if you can't use the later drivers, then you may be out of luck! Anyone else out there running Diablo II with old drivers to confirm this?

Well I was able to install the detonator 5.17 drivers but that didn't help. I still get the half screen when i launch the game, it looks like a refresh rate problem, for some reason my system is having a problem with the 800x600 res unless I use a 72hz refresh rate, its fine then. I tried using PowerStrip to force DiabloII.exe to use a 72hz ref. rate but it wouldn't work.

Im still lost frown

Well I'm not sure what you need either but if you go here: http://www.3dchipset.com and look under "drivers and utilities" you will see a list of all the drivers from 3.69 to 5.22. I'm using 3.84 now. Hopefully switching to 5.22 tonight.
