I have recently installed Knoppix std on my PC and my modem does not initialize. Can anyone tell me what modems work with Knoppix? The modem I have is a generic. I used a littlle program called Listmodem to detect the modem cofig in order to find out the chipset makers so I can find drivers to upgrade to work with Knoppix. This was the readout:
NUMBER OF MODEMS FOUND = 1

MODEM #1:
PCI CONFIGURATION INFORMATION READ:
VENDOR ID : 127A
DEVICE ID : 1025
SUBVENDOR ID : 127A
SUBDEVICE ID : 1025
REVISION ID : 01

DEDUCED INFORMATION:
VENDOR NAME : ROCKWEL
DEVICE NAME : CHECK CHIPSET FOR CORRECT MODEM
SUBVENDOR NAME : UNKNOWN
MODEM TYPE : Check chipset for correct drivers
WINXP INBUILD SUPPORT : YES
I am new to Linux so this info does not make much sense to me. Can you help.
