French text editors

Im running mandrake 9.1 and i need a french text editor for school. Since i take most of my classes in french i just need basic things like grammar and spell check. I dont need anything high tech, but if anyone has any ideas, that would be super wink

What about OpenOffice Writer with French disctionnary.
