AOE II

Greetings,
Was looking over the Games Compatibility listing and noticed that Age of Empires II was listed. Picked up the game, but can't seem to get it working. I am currently running the DX5NT patch & SETDX6 (although Im not sure if it is set up correctly). When I try to launch the game I get the "Must have DX 6.1a or better error message). Any suggestions? Anyone running this game?

Install Sp 6 or just directplay 6.1, then it should, at least it does for me, but i dont have the dx5 and dx6.1 **** installed!

Thanks!!! Installed the Direct Play 6.1 off the AOE II CD and all is fine now! Something to give thanks for!!!

SP6 doesn't contain any dx upgrades (dp is a part of dx)... so you have to install from the AOE, thought I'd just mention this is somebody else tries to install SP6 instead of dp6.1...

hum, strange because i made new install of nt4 with sp6 and when i run aoe 2 it worked at once! with sp 5 i had that it asks for dx6.1! But not with with Sp6!
