Were pulling double-duty this weekend, as we are reviewing the newest
chipset from AMD 890GX as well as one of the first mATX motherboards to
be equipped with it the MSI
890GXM-G65<http://www.hardcoreware.net/msi-890gxm-g65-motherboard-review/>
.
AMD intends this to be a replacement for the 790GX chipset, but in more ways
than one it is more similar to the 785G. That is a good thing of course,
since the 785G sports solid performance and Blu-Ray hardware decoding.
They added a new Southbridge SB850 to replace the somewhat aging SB7ื0.
It sports some new features such as SATA 6Gbps connectivity, but is
conspicuously missing native USB 3.0 support.
Does the tiny MSI 890GXM-G65 have what it takes to justify its relatively
high asking price compared to 785G boards?
