URGH!!! why won't this work..help please..anyone.. :)

okay here is the prob

1.got an old AMD 120 /4mb /343mb hd
and it won't autodetect my cdrom drive.

2.got a win 95 bootdisk (i am try'n to put win 95 on this computa, or will linux install on it??)
and when i set it too 'boot from floppy' it tries, then i get an error
of 'NTLDR' missing 'press any key to restart' etc etc, i have formated the drive in my win 2k server machine in fat, as well i tried redo'n the partition on the drive and left it unformated.(i have tried everything trust me, or haev I?)

SO what do i need help with

1.how can i get this computa to 'boot' up from my cdrom drive? or even pick up the cdrom drive on
boot?? is win 95 (with usb) suport bootable form cd??
2.how can i fix this missing file crap when i try boot'n form floppy

3.can linux go on a box with those specs (amd 120/4mb/384hd?)if so, well i need eth cdrom working right?

as far as booting from the cd, check for a bios update for the mobo - but a mobo that old may not be able to boot from cd even with an update....

actually i have look EVERYWHERE for the mobo, it doesn't have a maker on it belive it or not (thas how old it is, it uses all ISA slots and teh HD plugs into acontroller card, no IDE jacks on the board itself), all it has is that it uses an
OPTi-895 chipset, and i look at their site, but they got no'tn there frown

What you have is an old proprietary CDROM drive. This goes back to the old days of when your CD-ROM plugged into your soundcard. What you need is special DOS MODE drivers that support your specific controller card. Chances are your drive will be a mitsumi drive. What you need is the CR-54x drivers.

And regarding linux, I doubt it will run linux. Most current versions of linux require 24+mb of ram. You might be lucky if you can find a super old version of SuSE or Mandrake.

Oh yeawh one more thing, there is no such thing as a MAC G6... its a Mac G4

haha sorry guys typo it is G3 and the cdrom drive is a sanyo, i had got it all work with win95 but NOW the cpu (AMD 120)says that it is a 16mhz?? i did not change ANY jumper settings, all i did was reboot it frown and i tried the Sanyo cdrom in the sound card no luck either frown URGHHHH!!!!!!
