Ok, many people knows http://www.namezero.com but there are two new free registars.
http://www.domainzero.com (US only :() and http://www.namedemo.com (with upgrade option to ad free for $35/Year)

ad free for $35/year is nothing special... that's the same as what network solutions charges. At my work we sell domains for $25/year (no ads), and I know there are places even cheaper than that...
