Dear all,
I have been running Windows 2000 for some weeks now, with no problems. But just the other day, my icons all went to 16 / 256 colour icons, although my actual desktop was running at 16 bit colour (high colour).
I tried reinstalling drivers, changing refresh rates and deleteing the icon cache, but still no luck.
Please someone help me!!!!
thanks

hehe, i just got the same problem but i fixed it.
actualy all i did was run sof and did crazy **** till it crashed, and when i went back to the desktop it worked and all the icons looked fine.
try crashing a game where you get kicked to the desktop with an illegal action.

hmmm... mine used to do that before i reformated. goto display properties then effects. click show all possible colors so it is deselected. click ok. go back and select it again and then click ok. it is kind of a pain but it seemed to work for me every time....
