Is it just me, or does everybody's win2k machine act like it's on an AT power supply?

When I shut down, it goes all the way to " it is now safe to turn off your computer" instead of shutting down like it's suppose to on an ATX power supply, I have win98 on this machine also, and when I shut down in 98, it does shut down and turn off all the way, like it's suppose to. Any ideas as to why this happens?

Just install with ACPI if your mobo supports it.
Search for ACPI on this forum and you have all the answers smile

Or, if Win2k is not running in ACPI mode, then you might be able to enable APM support under Control Panel -> Power Options. (But sometimes the APM tab is not there, especially on Server and Advanced Server systems, because MS took APM support out of these deliberately!)

Just make sure your ACPI (if you have it) is working.
