CA Voodoo3 Drivers Win2K

Recommended Posts

The first line on http://www.voodoofiles.com/3928 says "1.07 must be installed first!" Now, maybe I'm just stupid, but isn't the highest Voodoo3 driver version for Win 2000 1.04? If you go here: http://www.3dfx.com/downloads.htm you will see that the ONLY version 1.07 drivers are for Win98/ME. So, to use these CA Win2000 drivers, I must install Win98 drivers first? Does that sound wrong to anyone else? If anyone knows anything about this, please enlighten me. Thanks.

P.S. Are these drivers any good?

The last Beta 3DFX did was 1.07 for windows 2k but they do not have it available from there site. Voodoo Files does have a link to it.

I did have problems with the 1.07 on the D3D end of things work fine for Open GL

This it last know set Voodoo3 drivers for Win2000 v3-w2k-1.03.00.exe in fact they are the same drivers as in Voodoo4,5.

No Win9x drivers do not work on Win2000.

The only problem I noticed was under 3dmark 2000. Everything, especially under the P3 optimizations were psyachadelic. UT runs smoothly. The best part is the overclocking feature as a standard part, so you dont have to do anything once the drivers are installed.

I wont complain, since they are MS WHQL certified.

I installed these right over my 1.04's (filename says 1.03 for some reason, but they are 1.04s) in 2k with SP1 and things seem to run fine, better actually. Quake III isn't all screwy anymore and UT is a tad smoother.
