ACPI disabled in Windows 2000, How can I get CPU cooler in i

Recommended Posts

I disabled ACPI because of the IRQ sharing problems, so everything runs fine now. But my CPU used to be about 28C idle, and now it's never below 46C idle. Quite a difference! CPU Idle doesn't work AT ALL for me, and other programs don't seem to support NT or 2K. Any ideas? I ask this because I can switch off some cooling when my system is idle and running cooler.

So that proves ACPI is a good thing cos it ruduces the load on the CPU, so why yours is getting hotter is cos it having to do more work now.... What was the problem with IRQ sharing by the way?
