I am having a problem setting up evolution with my Cox e-mail. No matter what I try When I try to receive mail the smtp ber goes across right away but the pop bar just hangs and it says fetching mail. I was wondering if anyone else has had any experiences with Evolution and Cox. I know that the problem is with Evolution, because when I put the exact same settings in K-mail it works flawlessly.

I am also using evilution and cox. and I have no problems at all.
I am using SuSE 8.2 you might want to check your mail settings
the settings for cox email are quite easy to set up
the pop settings are pop.[region].cox.net and the smtp settings are smtp.[region].cox.net them[region] being your geographical area.
such as pop.west.cox.net and smtp.west.cox.net.
I hope this helps.
this is about the only advise I can offer you since I am very new to linux

The exact settings that didn't work in Evolution, work fine in KMail.
Are you using Evolution 1.4, or are you using the version of Evolution that came with SuSE 8.2?
